Story Behind the Song
I felt like Jimmy Hendrix and Jim Morrison all in one, when I wrote this song. It came out one night when Micheal Dean and I where jamming. I decided to improvise lyrically over EVERYTHING I was playing, without regard. It worked, I opened up, and TONS of stuff came out. I really cherish that night, kind of an awakening. "It's a Sure Thing" is one of three song I wrote that night.
Lyrics
"It’s a Sure Thing" written by Bill Eastep
I walk into this lonely house, tryin to forget
Way it all went down in November
That’s when she said “I’ll never forget you” I remember
She made me feel like the man of her dreams
Yea, she said baby
I’m yours tonight
It’s a sure thing
Yea, I love you
I’m yours tonight
It’s a sure thing
Drivin’ up and down that coast, trying to forget
About that time I saw Diana
She filled my dreams everyday, I remember
Now I just can’t seem to escape from the past
Yea, she said baby
I’m yours tonight
It’s a sure thing
I love you baby
I’m yours tonight
It’s a sure thing
I love you
I’m yours tonight
It’s a sure thing
Solo
Lying awake in this rundown hotel
Trying to get back to Nevada
I hear the sirens wail outside my window
It makes me dream of the girl, she’s the one
Chorus solo
Chorus end
