    Lyrics
    Gypsy Rover

The Gypsy Rover came over the hill
Down to the valley so shady
He whistled and he sang till the green woods rang
And He won the heart of a lady

    Chorus:
Singing Ah dee doo Ah dee doo da day
Ah dee doo Ah dee day-ee
    He whistled and he sang
    Till the green woods rang
And he won the heart of a Lady.

She left her father’s castle gate
She left her own dear mother
She left her servants and estate
    To follow the Gypsy Rover

    Chorus

Last night she slept on the Goosefeather bed
    With Silken Sheets for cover
Tonight she’ll sleep on the cold cold ground
    Beside her Gypsy Lover

    Chorus

Her Father climbed on his fastest steed
He roamed the valley all over
He sought his daughter at great speed
    And the whistling Gypsy Rover

    Chorus

At last they came to the mansion fine
    Beside the River so shady
And there was music and there was wine
For the Gypsy and his Lady.

    Chorus

He is no Gypsy my father she said
But Lord of these lands all over
And I shall stay till my dying day
    With my whistling Gypsy Rover.

    Chorus
