    Story Behind the Song
When Woodstock came to Rome NY I rented it through pay preveiw and was overwhelmed at how violent it had become...especially the late night music! I wasn't too surprised for I did go to Saugerties several years before, the year Garcia died to the site of the original Woodstock...I was ao excited to go since I was only nine at the time of the first one and to young to go....anyway that too was an unorganized mess. In the first 10 minutes I was there I saw a young mother back hand her kid...the kid was asking for lunch and couldn't have been more than 7 or 8 years old. Later that night as my husband and I slept in a tent I feared for my life after a fight broke out right outside with knifves...somehow one of the fighters ended in the backseat of my car (didn't think to lock it ...I was in Woodstock!) Columbine also had alot to do with this song...unfortunatly...

    Lyrics
    We stuffed out beds
    Grabbed our cigarette stash
    Climbed out lacey curtains
    In between a laugh
    Swim a lazy river
Lie in the middle of a road
    Walk a barbed wire fence
    Bring a bong to load
    Screw the cap on tight
    Oh the wilderness of me
    Boys with secrete pockets
    Waiting by the tango tree

    Now young isn't pretty
    The misguided fall
Where did they learn to play so dirty
    With guns in the halls
    Watch an angry TV
    Lie in a super highway
Walk the fences of hell now
    All in one sad day

We drove rusted cars down long wooded roads
Rocked on back park benches where they hardley ever mow
    We only hurt ourselves
    Angels have balls
Our hair was our own color cause Hey!
    There were no malls

You race sport utilities down twenty lane highways
Rock in stadiums Rapp in digital aracades
    You got thousand dollar limits
When we were all in hock
And you burnt down your version
    Of our old Woodstock

    Creativity glistens
    In this time overpoured
    learn who you are
    Let your good spirit soar
And screw the cap on tight oh the wilderness of me
Boys with secret pockets swinging from the Tango Tree
