Story Behind the Song
People burn out if they don't slow down and take their time and do things right. I was noticing how sometime people tend to "bite off more then they can chew" or take on more responsibility then they are ready for. Sometimes they "think" they are ready... but the truth is, they are far from it.
I pictured being inside a tornado.
There's chairs and debris flying everywhere. ("Semi-pictures of upside down chairs")
And you're floating though this wind raging storm, when you notice how calm it actually really is.("Floating backwards, then you realize")
You then start to reflect on people that have came before you.. and the mistakes that they have made. ("The happy memories of broken solders")
And now you try pick up the broken pieces.
("Hidden softly between the seams")
Lyrics
[ Verse 1 ]
Let go, revive, reach in.
Held down, resound, again.
Told to, right now, begin.
Let go, revive, reach in.
[ Chorus ]
Semi-pictures of upside down chairs
Floating backwards, then you realize
The happy memories of broken solders
Hidden softly between the seams
[ Verse 2 ]
To grow, we try, you win.
They see, around, the trim.
Clean air, in smoke, breathe in.
To grow, we try, you win.
