	Live in Recital with the Composer in attendence. The composer Gordon Getty received his early training at the San Francisco Conservatory, and it was from class assignments there that his "Homework Suite" emerged. "Zwei Landler" is an open hommage to Franz Schubert -- whom Getty cites as the master he holds dearest -- and "Echoes of Usher" is what remains of work on an opera, never completed, based on Poe´s "The Fall of the House of Usher". The final piece in this Getty group, "Tiefer und Tiefer" is distinguished by the accompaniment of a virtuoso cricket, at rest in the rafters of the El Portal Theater, in Los Angeles, where this program was recorded live in recital. And, yes, this is the same Gordon Getty who was Forbes´ "Richest Man in America" in 1985, but that is really another story...
