Story Behind the Song
This song was written April time after the friend of a friend went through a particularly bad patch in his life. The lyrics are more or less about what he must be feeling after letting all these emotions off his chest and then the relief of hearing his friends response. It was quite quick too be written about an hour or so and only a few hours to record and mix. It's sheer stripped down acoustic pop!
Lyrics
V1
And you say you love me,
And you say you care,
But I’m bringing you down, down, down, down.
And you say you’ll be there,
No matter what I do,
All I see is you frown, frown, frown, frown.
Pre-Chorus
Maybe I have stayed too long,
When all I really want has gone
V2
And you say you trust me,
And you say we’re friends.
So why all the secrecy my friend?
And you know I’ll be here,
Forever and a day.
So take all the stress and let it end.
Pre-Chorus
Chorus
Trust in me, and I’ll be there,
You won’t have to worry ‘bout a thing.
Trust in me and I’ll be there,
You won’t have to worry ‘bout a thing.
Break
