	Story Behind the Song Roy Rogers was my favorite of the old movie and televisions cowboys. His passing ended an era. I realized that even though the old cowboys are no longer with us, the songs, the stories and the movies will always be here. To me, the lonely song of the coyote and the river to guide them home captured the essence of the lyrics and the three part harmony captured the mood. It was written in about 2 hours.
