Introspective atmospheric song about reminising and trying to make the most out of life. Melodic vocals and accoustic guitar make up this haunting arrangement.
    CD: Clear   Label: Secti Records
Credits: Written by Brett Axelson; Produced by Rat Ranch & Richard Lea; Mastered by Bernie Grundman

    Story Behind the Song
While at his parent's house one day, Brett came across a few lines of verse that his mother had written. Impressed with what he'd read, he asked her if he could expand it into a full-length song. Brett's original demo was very strong, and the simple stripped-down arrangement worked so well that he virtually duplicated it with Kent on guitar.

    Lyrics
Collision of love in mid air
Fragments of heart hit the ground
Faulty seeds of love grow without a sound
So now I sit at my window
    Head pressed against the pane
Memories drift across my mind as I watch the summer rain
And I thought the lights would get better in my eyes
From a different point of view
Walking down the old streets in the pathways of my mind
Thinking of the things I've done and the friends I've left behind
And funny how a rainy day gives pause to thought and act
And with the gentle cleansing rain old memories come flooding back
Looking through an album, old times old friends old faces
And wondering how their lives turned out
Do they know just where their place is?
And funny how a rainy day gives pause to thought and act
And with the gentle cleansing rain old memories come flooding back
And through the years and many tears it's a shame love's what we lack
And funny how as a child we took for granted our youth
And funny how the word "time" uncovers all of the truth
Our first breath is one breath closer to our last
Dying is the only guarantee we have
So what we do in between each breath is up to us
