An accusation of abuse of power towards organized religion, powered by the sickening way that spiritual leaders manipulate the less than intellegent.

    Story Behind the Song
This song takes me back. It was written at a coffehouse in Muncie, IN with my old friend Kymm Ridgeway. Originally it was a song about the manipulative nature of most romantic relationships, but over the years it has changed into a poignant commentary on organised religion.

    Lyrics
You said the stars would rearrange themselves
You said the sea would sing for me
You said that you would give me eveerything
But I'm sitting by myself again

    All these people walk around
Think they know what's going on
Funny how their story stayed the same
    I looked around for You
    Something's changed
    and what remains
    Makes it clear
You've found a way to disappear

You said that kindness would repay itself
You said in life there's nothing free
You said that you could explain all these things
But I'm sitting by myself again

    All these people walk around...

It makes me sick the way that people try to trick each other...
All in God's name we do these things without remorse, without forethought
All in His name we do our deeds not caring what we've wrought...
You said the stars would rearrange themselves, the sea would sing for me
You told me kindness would repay itself, but nothing's free
You said that you would give me everything, but nothing's all I see
You said that you could explain all these things, well I'm still waiting...
