From the feedback I've recieved, I can acertain that this song is fairly original in style. I don't think there are any mainstream artists who sound overly similar, although the vocals are possibly reminiscent of a masculine Esthero. Jesus gives this song a thumbs up, and so does Larry King.
CD: Interphase (unreleased)   Label: Record Label of Unexistence
Credits: Eric Hogg -vocals, programming, acoustic guitars, production craziness

    Story Behind the Song
Motivation: Life motivates me to create. That is my motivation for every song I write.
Where was it written? The computer parts were written on the computer, the guitar parts were written on a guitar, and the vocal parts were written in front of my computer.
What do the lyrics mean? Whatever you want them to mean.
How long did it take to write it? The electronic base of the song was constantly added to over the course of a week. Vocal melodies and guitar parts were pretty much instantaneous (they each took as long to write as the song took to finish playing)
How long to record? 2 hours, in addition to the electronic programming, which, as I stated earlier, was done over the duration of a week.
How many takes? One million. All in two hours. Are you impressed yet?
On a side note: 128 bit mpegs sound ugly. There is nothing I can do about this. My apologies in advance for the evil Hitleresque loss of sound quality.

    Lyrics
    Evolution (Prologue)

In life we are small, In death we are famous
--So morbid we are, and yet we’ve survived this long

We’re slow to evolve, but quick to make changes
Wherever we go bad luck is contagious
    With us

And so careless we are with advances we make
As we climb and we fall with the world we create...
    ...mistakes
