In a very strange way, with lucid images of pants on clotheslines, this is about tackling the challenges of life. | MP3.com CD: Prum - buy it!

Story Behind the Song
Originally, this song was a poem titled "Travelling Steadily Prumward," but with a little revision, it has been transformed into a new creation. Much of the of the verses remain original to the poem, with the chorus sections being the most changed.
Lyrics
ozone gently escaping the forest
brains gently misplacing memories
evaporation of spilt soda from the table
bouncing verbs off the tips of our tongues
squeezing bumps out of the crunchclock
woozie whopper of a telephone bill
you know that i know about the ironing board
a toaster permeates the atmosphere with crumbs
millipedes venture into harm's way only to find bees
swarms of clean rags escaping through the front door
hello, how are you?
hello, how have you been?
let me give you the great big hug of life
the great big hug of life
a clothesline where the pants all hang gathered together
just a few minutes of this seems like a lifetime
count your inches of dental floss decorating the mirror perimeter
know that a cardboard crown can release your stamps
meet people that you have never met
giving it all you got and winning big time
knowing that all the reports are good
the milk and cheese congratulate you on your success
you give them a great big hug and treat them to cheese and crackers
get out the wine and give the greatest toast ever
hello, how are you?
hello, how have you been?
let me give you the great big hug of life
the great big hug of life
life is a long, winding journey
you see the warnings, see the good signs
you know where you're going, learning more and more
keep away from trouble and all the people looking to use you
you will find out a lot about kaiser rolls and window cleaners
hello, how are you?
hello, how have you been?
let me give you the great big hug of life
the great big hug of life
