Anthony's anti-golddigger anthem. Perilously close to being a disco song, but unlike most disco songs, this one doesn't suck.

    Story Behind the Song
Normally Anthony saves the best songs for last whenever he arranges the track listings of his projects, but with a 2-1/2 hour double CD, that was a bad idea. This project needed singles in the beginning of it... GOOD ONES. "Satisfy" and "Scrumpin'" were written for that sole purpose.

After listening to too many Bee Gees and George Michael songs, Anthony's warped imagination came up with this. Anthony brought the song out of the 70's and into the 21st century with some 303 drum patterns, and Pat Byrne added two guitars to give it some INXS savvy. When all was said and done, it ended up being one of Anthony's most solid pop songs.

Despite the sexual connotations of the word "satisfy," this song has nothing to do with sex whatsoever. It's about attaining a level of financial stability before plunging into a relationship.

    Lyrics
Ain't got no money, ain't got no car
Saved up everything I had and moved myself up here
Barely surviving - every day I'm struggling
Good thing I don't drink because I can't afford beer
Food on my table, books in my bag
paid all my bills off and I paid off my rent
I thought the only thing was missing was you
Before I know it, I don't know where all my money went

    CHORUS
I've got to satisfy myself before I can saitisfy anybody
I've got to satisfy myself before I can saitisfy you
    It's true
    Yes I do

Wanted a companion, wanted a friend
Wanted somebody to be by my side
Thought love was free, I thought it didn't cost nothin'
But thanks to you, that theory died
You wanted fancy cars, you wanted fancy clothes
You wanted pretty flowers and a diamond ring
All I can give you, girl, is all of my love
And if you don't want that, then I ain't giving you a thing

    CHORUS

I wanted somebody to be by my side
To share everything even if it's nothing at all
You wanted somebody to shower you with gold
I'm not your sugar daddy, You're not my baby doll
So don't you push me, baby
    I'm already against a wall

    CHORUS
