A little rockin number about a friend of mine who has a problem. This is an unfinished demo for a cut off the new For Algernon full length coming soon. I need to add real drums and a few other small things but you'll get the idea.
CD: Orange Watches and Lost Loves   Label: Independently Released
Credits: Written, Preformed and Recorded by Jason Wells

    Story Behind the Song
A friend of mine is going through some rough times and I've been trying to help them for a long time but everytime they seem to improve, it starts again. I know I can't give up but sometimes I feel like it. I was really fed up and a little drunk when I wrote this. I had been listening to a lot of an artist called Bright Eyes when I wrote this and if you're familiar with them you can hear the influence. I need to add drums to this recording but keep in mind it's demo when you're listening to it, please. Enjoy.

    Lyrics
Well I've been fucked and not yet compensated
I've been in love and I've never dated
But it's a voice that brings me back here trying to prove
That through all of this shit life is worth you

Because you can't count on the sun to make it grow

So here is the choice that I've got to decide,
Risk it all again or stay in and hide
There is nothing you can say to me
That's going to make this choice easy

Cos you can't count on the sun to make it grow

Ashes to ashes and dust to dust we all return where we came from
So why not forget if I can't forgive and just say you're done.

Either you or this will kill me
You could blame you and not feel guilty
You say you've quit and all your days are through
But you seem to forget how well I know you
