A very musical way of appealing to the hard rock edge in all of us. The opening of Holding Images is a great meaty rhythm section riff that resolves quickly into a contrastingly darker verse with spatial piano backgrounds. The choruses sweep the mood to a burning level. The variation in vocal range is the highlight here. The band has some fun with a quasi head banging instrumental groove section of drums, bass, rhythm guitar & fiendish keyboard choir riffs.

    Story Behind the Song
The motif of Holding Images deals with living, learning & growing. If we do not retain our child like learning qualities, we become the embodiment of I know what I like and I like what I know and I will go down in flames with images of what I have been told instead of changing. The song was written in three parts. The lyrics became collaboration with Helen, Like Sonia manager & lyricist. She had a great poem like story and I had a chorus theme with melody & chords that belonged. The music developed & molded over a period of weeks of cutting, pasting, crying & self medicating. Holding Images and several other songs off our CD were recorded in a day with only one or two takes.

    Lyrics
    I remember sitting
    Peacefully with you
    Mending things broken
    Fixing on the new

    We were there
    Full of Childhood charm
    The world was ours
    Skirting the ways of harm

    Chorus:
    I am holding images
    Of stories we have told
    Black and white images
We burn with flames we know

I have said my good byes
    A thousand farewells
    I needed distance
    I always wished you well

    Painting secret masks
    With topics of the past
    The dramas now seem dulled
    Not meant to last
