	Story Behind the Song While living homeless in Dayton, OH during the summer of 1998, I wrote this song as an unsent letter to my parents. Now, it bears mentioning that my folks and I get along just fine these days, but at the time it seemed like they didn't want anything to do with me (to be honest I wouldn't have wanted to know me right then either). The song survives on my set-list, however, because of the profound impact it seems to make on audiences. Apparently, a lot of young people can relate to it.
