	Story Behind the Song I had fallen in love with the girl who would become my wife. We lived at opposite ends of a harbor. Our relationship was young. I wanted to see her every minute and she wanted to take it slow. So I sat alone in a small beach cabin shortly before Chrismas. The snow began to fall on the hillsides of the harbor with Christmas lights on all the houses. It was beautiful and I wanted so to share it with her. More than anything in the world at that moment I wanted her. In my mind's eye I could see her coming across the water, standing in the bow of a row boat with a friend behind her rowing. She was covered in a cloak and the lantern she held outward was dimmed by the fog. I sat down to my keyboard and this popped out.
