Story Behind the Song
The song "Rear Window" began as a musical break (or landscape) to help tie in aspects of the current record. The melody was "borrowed" from another Michael song that was never finished. The idea behind the song was to create short musical "scenes" that focused on other people's lives. This is a voyeuristic song. Just as Hitchcock used a camera in HIS Rear Window we use music to "look around". The gist of the song is "we spend so much time watching other people when what we oughta do is look at ourselves for change." (slightly paraphrased from a line in the movie. We hope you enjoy. Please email us if you like the song.
