	Skin is one of the more collaborative efforts featured on All Day Breathing. Short and poppy, with intricate counter-harmonies, it's an easy track to repeat.

	Story Behind the Song The song started as an attempt to create a rhythmic melody of single notes for the acoustic guitar. Slowly and painstakingly, the melody came together. Months later, DW found the counter-balance by adding the second part of the song. Anna was immediately able to tie the two guitars together with her ethereal cello section. For the second part of the song, she provides the pop sensibility that keeps the tempo up. The words flowed naturally, and neither vocalist thought much about what he was saying. After some reflection, the lyrics seemed to signify the layers that lie underneath the mundane aspects of life. Lyrics skin you get yourself up early in the morning repeat the mantra this could be your glory grab your keys and coffee head for the door right foot down and you’re out on the road left turn, stop right turn, stop the whole damn world is watching the cops watch you and what can you do and where can you even go and all you realize you’ll do the same thing tomorrow it’s all about the skin the skin that it’s in taking it down like a metaphor (what’s in your… lunch bag? dying on the floor life raft? kicking it tight casket?) because the alphabet is a traffic light
