    Story Behind the Song
My friend, Mullugata and I were at lunch one day when he exploded " me no waan live yaso no more star, me no waan live 'mongst no rum drinker, shirt lifter or grave dirt sprinkler, me waan go a Africa"! Wow, I said, this sounds like a song. I went home that night and wrote Place In The Hills for him and played it over the phone, he was really moved. Shortly after, he left corporate America and embarked on a soul searching journey through many states and countries. Respect Mullu', one love. Marcia

    Lyrics
I see a place in the hills
    Lush valleys, daffodils
    Food a-plenty, juice and wine
    A place I know I gotta find

I don't wanna live here anymore
Jah, Jah, just even out the score
And put all of those who wanna be
    Evil, with the evil society
    Oh Jah uplifteth me

    Cos I don't wanna
    Live 'mongst no warmonger
I don't wanna see no shirt lifter
Dem and de grave dirt sprinkler
I just wanna go back to Africa
    (Back to Africa)

I see a house built of wood
Living the way I know I should
    Prince and princesses living right
    What an irie, irie sight
    Money problems gone away
Come on my people help me pray
That you and I will live to see
    Blessing inna fe we society
    Wooa peace and harmony

    Cos I don't wanna
    Live 'mongst no warmonger
I don't wanna see no shirt lifter
Dem and de grave dirt sprinkler
I just wanna go back to Africa

    Back to Africa
    Land of fore-fathers
    Milk and honey
    Juice and wine
Oh my brethren I know I'll find
Africa is present in my mind

    Cos I don't wanna
    Cos I don't wanna
    Cos I don't wanna
I just want to go back to Africa

We have to go back to Africa - yea!
