Story Behind the Song
This song kind of tells a stry about a repressed people who overcome their oppressors. This one took us a little while after the initial song was scrapped because it didn't fit what we wanted to do with it.
Lyrics
OUTCASTS OF BABYLON
White sands time
Stained with sweat and blood
What once was mine
Now property of a king
Once free
But now enslaved
To break my bonds
Treason is my crime
Why must it be this way?
Outcast from society
What once was mine, now is gone
Belonging now to Babylon
Whispers of rebellion
Flowing through our minds
Hidden weapons
Clinging to our sides
By cover of darkness
An imminent cloud of death
An assassin's blade
The kings final breathe
THE WAR HAS BEGUN!
Sword piercing flesh, a peaceful lull
A bloodied axe, cleaved in a skull
Scattered cadavers, a necropolis of pain
Friends and foes, they all die the same
Raped and pillaged, there's no hope left
A homeland torn, rots under our feet
Wading through blood, a surprise attack
Unknown to them, can't kill the dead
The crimson field
Strangely soothing
A glimpse of tranquility
In a chaotic world
Now free
But at what cost?
For our humanity
Has been forgotten
