Story Behind the Song
We started writing this song about a friend of the bands that died in a car accident not long ago. By the time we were finished writing the intro, it turned into a warning towards those people who think that it can't happen to them. If you party too much and then get in your car, your gonna end up dead. It may not happen this time, but it will happen eventually, and you need to be aware of how it affects the people around you. No matter how hard you search for the reasons, your always gonna be left with the question of Why.
Lyrics
Lost another friend just the other day
we put him in the ground then we walked away
I heard a man say he died too young
that's a hell of a price to pay for having fun
we all believe we're wild and free
things like that can never happen to me
those are the words of so many more who came before us and fell to the floor
we ask so many times
on so many lines
and they say why
the pain it builds inside
but still you ask
and we'll say why why why
so we stumble forward with life's little trips
never thought before that it could happen like this
so we keep it silence left left in the back
never knowing when it will attack, attack
it's hard sometimes to say what you feel
and other times you say it's just not real
but real is what you live because you don't wanna die
but under our breath we cry, we cry
we ask so many times
on so many lines
and they say why
the pain it builds inside
but still you ask
and we'll say why why well
