	Story Behind the Song Richard was a high flyer. At 15 years old, he received an outstanding achievement award from the Lord Mayor of London. As a graduate from Oxford, he established his own law firm "Sherringtons Solicitors". A great benefactor of the Arts and many charities, Richard's name is on the wall of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and the Costume Museum where he contributed to saving Dame Margot Fonteyn's memorabilia for the nation. The list of his good works is endless but his contribution to my life was significant. On the 27th October, 2001, Richard and his lovely wife, Yvonne, gave a wonderful dinner party for me where he played my "Songs Without Words" album all night! None of us knew this would be our last party together. Three days later he was tragically killed in a car crash. The following day I was due to record with my engineer, Dave Lewis. All I could do was dedicate the session of Piano Improvisations to Richard. A second session in January 2002 completed the album. There is no editing on this recording and it has fulfilled my desire to improvise and not be bound by anything! I hope you will find the pieces not only peaceful but uplifting - each track serving a special place for the listener.
