Story Behind the Song
When a guy is not really looking for a girl, she seems to come out of nowhere. That's the gist of this tune. The song was written in Eden, North Carolina. It took about an hour to write (it really was knocked off quickly to add extra material to a long-playing cassette). It took about six hours to record; four takes.
Lyrics
You came to me with your bouffant hair
And when I saw you standing there,
I knew I was in trouble, knew I was in trouble, knew I was in trouble
And when I looked into your video eyes
Then I began to realize that
I was in trouble, knew I was in trouble...
In trouble the way I'd never been in trouble before
In trouble the way I wanted to stay forever more
And when I saw you walking down the street
Felt my heart go to my feet
And I knew I was in trouble, knew I was in trouble
When you said, "How do you do?"
I said, "I don't mind if I do!"
And I knew I was in trouble, knew I was in trouble.
