Story Behind the Song
This song title came from my friend Richard , who used to always say, "Let's go to the Burger Doodle." That was the inspiration, and beyond that, it was just something for fun. I wrote this around 1991, and re-recorded this demo version in June 2002.
Lyrics
BURGER DOODLE BLUES
I was out the other night, cruisin' in my car
Searchin' for the nearest Burger Doodle,
Then I saw the neon lights shinin' from afar,
Could taste those burgers, fries ,and chicken noodles.
I then pulled into the lot, Man the line was long,
The drive-thru there was really hoppin',
I guess the time I picked to stop was a time that was wrong,
I know those burgers on the grill are there poppin'.
{Chorus}
But what can one man do while sitting in a drive-thru,
Why won't this Damn line move,.. I've got,..
Those Damned ol' Burger Doodle Blues.
I finally got up to the speaker, seemed to take all night,
But now I'm starving but it's finally my turn,
I've been waiting , getting weak from hunger that I've fought,
My mouth is watering for that taste I so yearn,
Then I started to place my order and in disbelief,
I hear these words I don't believe I hear,
"I'm So Sorry Sir, but you wouldn't believe,.. we're out of food, there is no food we fear,..
Repeat Chorus
Lead Break
Pepeat 2nd verse
Chorus
End
