	Story Behind the Song I started this tune in an Austrian youth hostel last Thanksgiving. I was homesick and lonely from travelling for months on end and couldn't get a break from anyone. I recalled 'Same Old Blues' by Freddy King and played around with similar background harmonies in mind until, lo and behold, I had rescued myself from the murky depths of self-deprecating loneliness through music! Lyrics I wouldn’t ask for water If I thought your well, well had run dry But now I’m so thirsty and you appear to be in a hurry So all that I’m asking is for a little Sympathy from your side A year ago I would have walked right into here But now that’s a luxury I can’t afford to buy I’m on the cold side of your door And my knees are to the floor All that I’m asking is for a little Sympathy from your side Is that too much to ask? -Solo- I’ll leave now, yes I will If you can only look me in the eyes And tell me, tell me, tell me That I can’t have no Not even a little Sympathy from your side
