Story Behind the Song
This song was written in response to a divorce. I was wondering what to do with myself asking, “Where do you go?” I wrote part of the lyric in a restaurant, came home and started laying the tracks, and finished the second verse as I was recording. It took about three hours to complete the song with vocals.
Lyrics
Go your own way,
Call it a day,
Say goodbye.
Take one step at a time,
You’re doing fine,
That’s what they all say.
Picking up the pieces
Of a love that s left behind.
Where do you go?
Where do you go?
Where do you start
When you’ve fallen apart,
The fire’s lost its glow.
Where do you go?
Where do you go?
It s the end of a dream,
Love was not what it seemed
And I really need to know,
Where do you go?
Look back in time
To the poetry s rhyme
That we made.
All the love that was there,
Ready to share,
If we had only stayed.
Do you ever wonder
Why it slipped away?
Where do you go?
Where do you go?
We knew in our heart
It had fallen apart,
The fire d lost its glow.
Where do you go?
Where do you go?
It s the end of a dream,
Love was not what it seemed
And I really need to know,
Where do you go?
Where do you go?
