	Story Behind the Song In a Christian world view that constantly cries out for God to bless us, Reign Down reminds us of the need for God to reign over us. I find myself constantly returning to God and asking Him to retake the throne of my heart! Surely He is Lord! But I have to submit to Him for him to become MY Lord. Actually the music of this song came long before the lyrics. It was reflective of a battle I felt going on in my heart. I finally asked my wife, "what does this sound like to you?" to which she replied, "A violent storm, like rain." The play on words reign and rain became the basis for the song lyrics. As the Israelites constantly had God raining down blessings, but still begged for a different king to reing over them. I wanted to cry out. No! You Lord! You reign over us...
