Smooth as southern comfort on a summer's day...musically reminiscent of andy and opie headin' on down to their favorite fishin' hole...a true original American country favorite...this laid-back tune is one of the band's favorite's...all about those special times growin' up spent sharin' the music with family and friends on the front porch. Story Behind the Song
"Dad and Uncle Burt were the best two guitar pickers I ever knew. Not technically, maybe. But their love of music and song could bring happiness and laughter into any situation. Their musical collaborations were pure joy to a young kid growing up. I learned everything about guitars and singing and music at their knee. And boy, could they ever make their instruments "sing." Summer evenings, there was no better place to be than our front porch. Sunday afternoons it seemed that half the neighborhood would show up. A real gathering place. And it was the music that did all that. The joy and the fun. Everyone would get into the act with every kind of make-shift instrument, banjos, harmonicas, bottles, tub basses, anything. I can't imagine ever being happier than that. I'll always remember Dad that way."

FRONT PORCH SWING

When I was just a little bitty boy
Sittin' on the front porch swing
Folks would stop and just gather 'round
Got to be a front porch thing
Daddy there playin' on his old guitar
Boy, the old man could sing
Forever I'll remember all the music we made
Sittin' on the front porch swing
Instrumental break
Front porch memories still hold strong
Banjo and the mandolin
Washboard scratchin' out our favorite song
Tub bass kickin' in
Daddy still strummin' on his old guitar
Boy the old man could sing
Forever I'll remember all the fun we shared
Sittin' on the front porch swing
Now whenever we're together
Sittin' and a swingin'
We're pickin' and a grinnin' and
Sittin' on the front porch swing
