"Blank Song" was the first piece we did with programming in it. It just came about in the studio. The vocals were a first take, we tried different takes, but none sounded like the first. Lyrically it's somewhat Bukowski'esque: Hangover, masturbation and hangin' around... |

Story Behind the Song
The lyrics somehow came about after listening to the latest Crash Test Dummies album. I always liked Brad Robert's weird lyrics, they somehow often reminded me of Charles Bukowski. So I tried the same, with all the ingredients I liked about both of them: Fierce comic with loads of sexual hints...
Lyrics
Blank Song (Lyrics: Peter Flore)
I'm getting freaked out off and on
I think the more nasty, the more fun
I spend my day naked in the sun
I wanna get high on the said and done
I sit and stare against the wall
I'm digging my way on my rubber doll
I'm swearing loudly in the hall
I'm throwing up on my own ball
Well, here comes blankness all the way
From out of town to make my day!
Well, it's been there the whole day long
And such a good source for a song
When there is blankness time by time
I'm cooling down and get so fine
When there is nothing left to lose
When you won't call to tell the news
Though I am back here at square one
I won't admit I'm having fun
I'll have a drink right before dawn
And get my own thing goin' on
Well, here comes blankness all the way
From out of town to make my day!
Well, it's been there the whole day long
And such a good source for a song
Now, if you don't mind, I'll tell you why
It's for that one thing I can't find…
