Story Behind the Song
The Poet emerges from the union of Night and Day. He is horrified and discouraged by the grim world that surrounds him. His proclivity to despair ruptures the union of Night and Day, leaving him alone to face the terror. Inevitably, Death comes for him. The Poet manages to elude Death's influence, but exhausted by his struggles, he falls into a deep sleep.
