You want your punk and rock? Fine then!
CD: The MacGregory Hall Sessions   Label: Tigris Euphrates
Credits: Juston Payne; Tyler Littwin; Nathan J. Thomas; Greg Bautista

    Story Behind the Song
Juston wrote the punkest song on the album? Strange but true. "Packages" was indeed written by Juston, a man who at most holds only a passing interest in all things punk (except for the Bosstones who he actively dislikes). The chord progression was written some time before the band formed and the outro was composed during one of the many rehersals in the basement of Drake Hall. Greg and Nate were in constant confusion when it came to the strange piano melody during the chorus but soldiered on nonetheless. "Packages" became a live favorite due to the overall noise that could be generated during the song.

    Lyrics
    Would you worship me
If I were not your king
    Power might relieve
    Your insecurites
    And LA grows palm trees
    As makeshift fallacies
    Oh yeah

    God will set you free
if you can pay the fee
    you're a worker bee
but you don't work for me
    Sentencing at noon
and it's the end for you
    my friend

    Want fame
    got it
now you've got to flaunt it
    Night clubs
    Tight Shirts
    Treating money like dirt
    Strobe lights
    Bright eyes
    Pupils Double in size

If you want to be like me then you have got to see like me

    Close the book on me
    Your search did not succeed
    Never play the game
If you've got no one to blame
And I could not see me
    Living as a refugee
    My friend

    Refrigerate your wife
So she does not get old
    The best accessory
That a man can ever hold
    A girl with such beauty
    That anyone can see
    My friend

    Want fame
    got it
now you've got to flaunt it
    Night clubs
    Tight Shirts
    Treating money like dirt
    Strobe lights
    Bright eyes
    Pupils Double in size

I've got something that you really want but you can't have it
If you want to see like me that you have got to see like me...

    If you like the beach
    Then come inside my house
And if you like to teach
    Then wear a lowcut blouse
And if you'd like some tea
Then my garden has the leaves
    My friend
