    Story Behind the Song
This was written in our Newall apartment in early spring 2002 as a simple acoustic guitar track. It had the potential to stay a simple acoustic piece but when you factor in the rest of the band, things change and the song ended up with a cool alt-country feel to it. Greg's bassline keeps the song moving and Juston's trippy piano solo gives the song a nice psychedelic vibe in the middle. The lyrics for the chorus were pinched from a song I had written for a previous band I was in (TastyFish) because they fit this song better.

    Lyrics
    Tripping across the lawn
And I left the TV on
    So when they come downstairs
They'll think that I'm still there
    Tonight

And he found some sand in his pocket
And he didn't seem to care
And he never tried to stop her
Through the backyard that they shared

    She caught a dirty mouth
When her family moved on south
And she hoped for better ways
    As her brother counted days
    At night

And she found some sand in his pocket
And she didn't seem to care
And she never tried to stop him
Through the backyard that they shared

    Tommorow's a thrill yesterday's a blast
Why not waste today just to help time pass

    Tripping across the lawn
And I left the TV on
    So when they come downstairs
They'll think that I'm still there
    Tonight

And I found some sand in my pocket
And I did my best to care
And I never would have stopped them
Through the backyard that they shared
