	Story Behind the Song ***White male privilege is not something that gets brought up very often in the punk/hardcore scene, even thought its presence is painfully obvious to women and people of color. It’s important as white males to come to grips with this concept of privilege. However, trying to be the knight in shining armor rescuing women and people of color from oppression is the last thing we need. It is time to stop talking and suggesting. It is time to admit we know nothing and start listening. We don’t know the answers. Lyrics How can I possibly begin to understand? This disease has infiltrated our very existence, defining even life itself. When you’ve lived with something your whole life, like privilege, it’s almost impossible to notice it. And when it does come up it’s a big slap in the face, and if that’s the case, I’m ready for a beat down. I don’t know what it’s like and I never will. Isolated incidents of being the minority can never add up to a lifetime of discrimination. Neither can pointing the finger, unless it’s at myself. As long as there is this struggle, so will I.
