Story Behind the Song
Each sun has an intense gravitational pull. Planetary orbits are based on centrifugal force which itself is based on intense gravitational pull. With every orbital revolution, each planet moves incrementally closer to its inhability to support life and, ultimately to its doom. A planet's ability to support life is based on a combination of heat and moisture, both of which change based on the planet's distance from the sun. In theory, any planet in that evolutionary sweet spot should be able to support life, until it becomes too close to the sun, making it inhabitable. Perhaps, beings which may have colonized our planet came from a planet between the Earth and the sun which was losing its ability to support life, and, not unlike Earthlings now look to Mars, sought another planet on which they could save their humanity. Not for the squeamish.
Lyrics
Every thing there is moves towards the sun
Every hour of every day
And that is the reason why we send this song
All throughout the Milky Way
The people are all so tiny here
And they're scattered around and round a shiny sphere
As we go drifting through space and time
A million suns shine
All there is moves towards the sun
Forever and on into the future
Every hour of every day
Imagine you're standing at the oceanside
Imagine the creatures small and large inside
Imagine you're staring up from that same place
Imagine you're standing on the edge of space
All there is moves toward the sun
Every hour of every day
All throughout the Milky Way
The future is dark, but the sun shines bright
The mothership dances around the light
Forever a slave to a distant star
Imagining what life will be like on Mars
