The first of a group of 12 pieces, this etude is technically challenging and indeed one must consider various musical devices to make the piece sound like more than just a study. |

Story Behind the Song
The piece, as well as the others, was recorded to a Tascam DA20 DAT player. It was then bounced to MAC ProTools and normalized (enhanced for maximum signal). Heitor Villa-Lobos had originally composed the famous 12 etudes in 1928. The published versions of these pieces are the ones played by most guitarists. However, the original transcriptions of these works are gaining notoriety.
