Story Behind the Song
I wrote this song, hoping for a catchy tune, funny lyrics, and something everyone would enjoy, putting a smile on their face. I gave many of my friends this song and they love it. So now, I bring it to you.
Lyrics
Johnny Appleseed woke up one day
Looked Outside
And saw it was raining
“What a day to plant some seeds!”
Gathered his bag
And went to digging
When he stepped outside he made a gasp
Grabbed his sack
And went on running
Now, Mr. Squirrel, he’s not shy
Followed John
Across the country
Chorus 1:
Johnny Appleseed is a girl
The craziest story in the world
Johnny Appleseed, what a wuss
The kind to hide behind a bush
Now, Johnny Appleseed ran out west
Seeds dropped out
Where ever he stepped
Falling seeds from here and there
Everywhere
Across the U.S.
Soon this story would follow him
A legend
But is it really
“He was a coward,” Squirrel says
“Yesiree
Just turn on the tele”
Chorus 2:
Johnny Appleseed is now dead
Slipped on a pickle and bumped his head
Fell in a vat of Apple Juice
His favorite bird the Canada Goose
The Ballad Of Johnny Appleseed
