A song sung by a Beluga whale in the St-Lawrence River (Quebec, Canada). These are among the most pollution-poisoned whales in the world.
CD: Bebop Beluga by Jay Sewall (http://www.geocities.com/psrajano/Jay/)
Credits: Lyrics : Jonathan Benjamin and Jay Sewall; Music and Production : Jay Sewall

    Story Behind the Song
Jay Sewall and I were both living in Quebec City on the banks of the St-Lawence River when this song came about.

    Lyrics
    Bebop Beluga
I'm a tourist attraction and I love my fame
    Bepob Beluga is my name
Humping and jumping, what a whale of a time
Up and down the river in three four time

    Chorus:
Bebop Beluga, swimming in the googa
Bebop Beluga, better booga-wooga to the straits of Honolula

I'm a creamy white whale, at least I used to be
All this acid and oil is turning me green
But the government will save us, 'cause there's been complaints
They're gonna fix us up with a coat of white paint

I love my home in the St. Lawrence river
But the water's getting thick and it's hard on the liver
The tourists are in for a big surprise
Seeing whales drinking water out of bottles to survive.

I'm Bebop Beluga, taking vitamin pills
Cause something in my food is making me ill
But I don't worry, life ain't so hard
The government promised whales health insurance cards

Now let's switch to the year 2003
There's only one whale left for the tourists to see
It's Bebop Beluga in radiation armor
And a gas mask with oxygen for swimming in the harbor
