	Story Behind the Song I remember my grandmother having only a few streaks of grey in her hair-- in those days the chain gangs would work the road in front of her house some afternoons, and when they did, she would make four or five big frypan cakes of cornbread to give to the road boss for the convicts to eat... they'd all be sitting with the chains snaking round their legs out under the shadetrees at noontime with the smell of cornbread drifting through the yard... and sometimes, you could hear a blues harmonica...
