A norteño-rock song, set in Mazatlan, Mexico, at Carnaval
    CD: I Fell
Credits: Everything by Tracy Duvall, 2000

    Story Behind the Song
A man and his teenage son meet up with the father's old buddies at Carnaval (Mardi Gras) in Mazatlan. They reminisce about the misdeeds of their youth, and the father tells his son to respect the living history that a drunk represents, even though he might look run-down.

This was my first hard-disk recording.

    Lyrics

Ojo, chamaco mira esas chavas.

    TRANSLATION
Hey, old friend, whats up? Today Carnaval isnt like it was yesterday. Hey, friend, lets take advantage of the wind. I feel that the breeze is bringing us back to yesterday

I raised my cup to my pal, pulling the band. Then we made our own party. Today they dont listen to us, but the music orders them about. The Lost Boy wont leave El Tarrandas, yeah!

One time the wall was my destination. Well, of course, the beach was my urinal. I didnt know that it was a preferred bed among hicks. The cloud ran away when it woke up the ground, yeah!

Listen up, boy: listen to my old friend. To you he looks like a mess, but to me hes like a trunk of memories, a history book from when we were kings.

Look, boy: look at those girls. Its so nice to hang out and drink and make eyes with the young ones. You should invite them to move their feet, their butts, and their beers, yeah!

Do you remember the fight with your cousin from Escuinapa? He was with my sweetheart I was with his sister. We danced The Little Knife to the beat of the band. We invited the cops to join the dance, yeah!

Listen up, boy: listen to my old friend. To you he looks like a mess, but to me hes like a trunk of memories, a history book from when we were kings.

Hey, old friend, what happened? Today Carnaval isnt like it was yesterday. Hey, friend, lets take advantage of this wind. I feel that the breeze is bringing us back to yesterday
