	Story Behind the Song war is a sick cruel kind of animal, it grabs and your throat and smashes the youth right out of your breath. gouging eyes and slashing limbs, without prejudice war knows no shame. But it's not easy being such a wicked horrible beast. It takes the eons of time beating on the brow of humanity impatient with the struggle to survive. And yet with a little color and some cheap tin pan band playing a star spangled march on a June eve under the gazebo. Oh, yes the opportunities, its such a wonderful place to grow up overnight. We all would have been better off to have stayed at home than gone out on nights like this. Doesn't it seem a bit strange, perhaps even an overdose of the bizzare that we all succumb to our own fears? Isn't it the least bit offending to the ears, that wicked horrible sound of the pound pound pounding of wooden sticks being drawn across half dried goat skins?
