Story Behind the Song
Inspired by Queen's OGRE BATTLE, Ogre Wizard is a classic example of Power Metal Fantasy. This song was recorded for the OVERLORDE 2000 CD demo, which was the first recording with former Seven Witches (Massacre) vocalist Bobby Lucas. OVERLORDE 2000 rec'd a perfect "12" rating from HEAVY, ODER WAS?! as well as great ratings and reviews from many other metal publications including TERRORIZER, ROCK HARD, and SNAKEPIT.
Lyrics
OGRE WIZARD
VERSE ONE:
In a forest dark and dreary, stands a castle of brick and stone
And within the Wizard and his Ogres plan their wicked chores
In the town, the people hide, to save their meager, little lives
For they fear the mighty Wizard and his Ogre’s rough and dry
CHORUS:
Run, oh run, oh run, you little people
The Wizard and his band arrive
Run, oh run, oh run, you little people
The Ogres do arrive
There is little you can do
But not unlike the bird that flew
You can do it, you can try
Or the Wizard says “you die!”
VERSE TWO:
Down the pass from mountain high, through the forest, battle cry
Ogres, Ogres, everywhere! The stench of war hangs in the air
The people flee, the children hide. None to stand, to fight, to die
The Wizard’s strength is much indeed, the people know his words to heed.
CHORUS:
Run, oh run, oh run, you little people
The Wizard and his band arrive
Run, oh run, oh run, you little people
The Ogres do arrive
There is little you can do
But not unlike the bird that flew
You can do it, you can try
Or the Wizard says “you die!”
(Guitar solo)
VERSE THREE
Down the pass from mountain high, through the forest, battle cry
Ogres, Ogres, everywhere! The stench of war hangs in the air
The people flee, the children hide. None to stand, to fight, to die
The Wizard’s strength is much indeed, the people know his words to heed.
CHORUS:
Run, oh run, oh run, you little people
The Wizard and his band arrive
Run, oh run, oh run, you little people
The Ogres do arrive
