Story Behind the Song
When I arrived in LA in January 2001, I was walking down Fairfax in Hollywood on a bright sunny day and I saw a beautiful California girl. When I got home I wrote a song aobut her. Then Mark let me here this riff he was working on and that was the musical hook that made the song complete, the "G thing" that I play throughout the song.
Lyrics
Passin' by on a sunny day
Saw you lookin' toward me that way
Had to stop, catch my breath and check you out
Felt that rush and knew we'd meet without a doubt.
Saw your eyes they were smiling blue
Saw your lips they were smiling too
Saw my future and stil l I saw you too
Walked right over, didn't have to think of what to do.
Kiss me girl, let me slip into your smile
Hold me girl, let's just stay here for a while.
Every time that I come this way
I remember that sunny day
I come home and catch my breath a nd check you out
I'm so glad girl that I found you
I'm so glad girl you found me too
I'm so glad girl that I love you without a doubt.i
