Story Behind the Song
This song was written in the lush forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains inspired by the lyrical poem by Jason Hart when he was writing regularly in his journal. The redwoods, creeks, fresh air and fauna all combined to inspire this modern rock jam and anthem to freedom.e
Lyrics
Do ancient souls creep inside of me
Who met you from days past
Does nature call to me so I remember you
But are dreamers always last?
Are dreamers always last?
We are waters flowing like creeks inside me
Two worlds colliding in the river's current, you and me
Struggling to be free, you and me
In the current we're all free
Was it only a thousand suns ago
That I could feel you the dreams grew slow the night was fast
Will there be a day that I find you but 'til then,
How many moons will pass?
How many moons will pass?
chorus
Do ancient souls creep inside me?
(From days past, dreamers last, you an me, we're all free!)
Do ancient souls creep inside me?
(The night was fast, moons will pass, lovers know, the mountains grow!)
How long 'til the mountain grows
From the seashore lands only lovers know
That fate's at hand, wild passion shows
In this desert land, where the mountains always grow?
The mountains always grow!
chorus
chorus
You may be rich, you may be poor
You may be walking on Heaven's door
You may be up, you may be down
You may laughing, you may be smiling
You may be here, you may be there
You know that I don't really care
As long as we're all free, we're all free
We're all free, yeah!
Oh, we're all free, yeah. i
