	Lyrics When the lights go down in this silly little town, and the coal dust settled to the ground. The streets were all covered with ash and the rust, but Daddy didn't come home at dusk. See the mountain it all shook, and made everybody look at the horror that was all around. Forty miners lay dead, and Momma alone in her bed. In her sorrow she would finally drown. But all the tears they would shed, won't bring back the forty dead, nor the streets lined with ribbons and bows. We just bow our heads and pray for the dead. Once again below ground they go.
