	Story Behind the Song I wrote and recorded this one in room M1 at Campbell's lodge on Lake Chelan. Inspired by my need to hop in the car and just drive. Lyrics It's Always Been That Way Michael Dickes 11/01/01 Everytime the Fall comes in and scatters itself through the trees I like to drive around just to hear the rain move through the wheels When the radio comes on and the noise dissappears I pretend to float away. Its always been that way. You see, guys like me just kind of like to be alone To get away for a spell while life goes rattling on Every now and then, I think the world looks all wrong I know it sounds insane, but it's always been that way I don't know what all this means Does it need to mean anything? There's a piece of the moon that lights up the day No one's making sense, but it's always been that way There will always be a time when a person will want to change And it's true that shedding your own skin involves a certain amount of pain.
