	Story Behind the Song Silence isn't a virtue - it's something we are often told we should be (sometimes directly stated by parents of teachers), but more often it's something forced upon us by how few ways we are "allowed" to have meaningful input into the decisions that affect our lives. Most people in this world are silent - when we hear a racist joke, when we see a women being harassed, when we watch someone being an asshole at a show - or when we are asked what we really want from life. We live in a world where we are taught to be silent, to not question, to not confront, and to never disrupt social norms. We have to ask ourselves - whose lives are we living? How much longer will we tolerate survival as opposed to life? 16 years of school slavery only to graduate to the world of wage slavery? Allowing the better portion of our lives to be decided for us? Watch as our friends, lovers, and community are ravaged? We refuse to be silent. This was originally released on our 3-song demo - then re-recorded at Rainstorm Studios, and a much better version is on our new 3-song CD-EP. Lyrics Watching as we chase someone else's dream. No conscious choice just the ease of conformity. With no alternative we just fall into line - wasting away the days of our lives. Silence is not consent. Pacified we settle for less. Failure to pose a threat. Marginalize and we divide what's left. This is not life - how much longer will we tolerate the selling of our lives? Alienation as a way of life. Resign ourselves to mindless consumption - we work and buy until the day we die. The result is a barren fucking wasteland.
