An ambient experiment with a double-tracked hollow body guitar, some deep effects on one, and a little improvisation to add some flavor. A little like an Eno-Fripp type of thing. |

Story Behind the Song
This song is named after the canyon in the Jemez Mountains of Northern New Mexico, near Los Alamos where I lived in 1997-1998. The real Dark Canyon is a deep canyon with fishing access along NM-4 between the Fenton Lake turnoff and the town of Jemez Springs. It's just one of those semi-secluded spots, nice for just having space to think in. This version is the latest one in a string of recordings I'd made along these lines to try out effects and ambience since 1997.
