Hey, what the heck was I thinking? A swing- bluesy tune done on acoustic & electric guitars and barking wah-wah Rhodes piano.
CD: Bummed Out About Stuff   Label: none
Credits: Song, Vocal, Guitars - Luther Picket. Recording, Rhodes Piano, Bass, Drums - Funky Steve.

    Story Behind the Song
Sometimes it takes a while, but suddenly it hits you. This song is about the sort of epiphany you experience when you realize you're getting raw deal and you don't deserve it. Any resemblance to persons living or dead is entirely coincidental. I zone out on the guitar playing this kind of stuff. It's second nature. There's nothing new here. It's just fun. Funky Steve takes a bite outta crime with his Rhodes through a stoned-age Crybaby wah-wah. Recorded and mixed at Good Enough Recording Studio by Stevie Funk.

    Lyrics
You had me cryin' like a baby
In the middle of the night.
    You had me thinkin' crazy.
Couldn't choose from fight or flight.
But honey, then I got to thinkin'
    This ain't right.
Holy Matrimony! What was I thinkin' of?
    I'm a damn good man,
And I'm good enough for love.

    And somebody will.
    It may not be you.
    Somebody will love me,
Cause my good-lovin' days ain't through.

You had me tossin' and a-turnin'
    And weepin' in my bed,
But the lessons I was learnin'
    Nearly filled my achin' head
And honey, as long I feel pain
    I ain't dead.
Holy Matrimony! What was I thinkin' of?
    I'm a damn good man,
And I'm good enough for love.

You had me cryin' like a baby
In the middle of the night.
    You had me thinkin' crazy.
Couldn't choose from fight or flight.
But honey, then I got to thinkin'
    This ain't right.
Holy Matrimony! What was I thinkin' of?
    I'm a damn good man,
And I'm good enough for love.

    I'm a damn good man,
And I'm good enough for love.
