Story Behind the Song
Commissioned via a song contest for inspirations of the Crux Gloria (see www.archangelarts.com for a full explanation of the vision of the Cross of Light). Generally speaking, the song started as an expression of spreading Jesus' light throughout the world. Of course, in order to do so, we must each first see his true light ourselves, obsorb that light, in order to project his love and message to others. The first verse contains that that came before Christ, the seconds is of Christ's life, and the last verse is my reflection on Him.
So, Jesus, let me see Your light, that I may be a light unto the world in your name, spreading your love.
Lyrics
He came in forms of cloud and fire
The promised land to lead the way
Obey his rules was his desire
And in this land we soon would stay
Led the kings to the location
The brightest star to show his birth
Made his son for all the nations
To bring salvation to the earth
Refrain:
Jesus, Let me see you
Oh Jesus, Let me see your light
Let me see your light shine
Shine in those around me
Not made of wood, you cannot touch
My cross, it is a cross of light
Throughout all time I will win much
By my spirit and not by might
Like a ray of light starts small
And grows for more to see
My dying spread the word
And in rising gave it speed
That all will come to know your grace
And then I’ll truly see your face
My faith, Your love they help me stand
Give me the strength to hold your hand
Awake me from my slumber please
Command me any way you see
And if I stumble if I fall
Please help me walk real tall
Let me see the light of your salvation
That gift you send us from up above
I will enjoy the light of he who saved us
When I see it shine in those I love
