Story Behind the Song
I found myself unable to concentrate in my Geology class after a series of seperate events led to the crumbling of many of my closest relationships. I decided to purge myself and write these words to God, hoping for a spiritual renewal. God, of course, did provide.
Lyrics
If I were a dancer, I'd be missing the beat,
If I were a painting, I'd be incomplete,
See, the winds of all these changing seasons have dried my soul,
But the tears I cry will not run dry unless You have control,
You are Almighty God,
I will bow before You,
Be Thou my Shelter, Lord,
I will rest in You
Sometimes I wonder what I'll do with my life,
But now I'm just asking "How will I get through tonight?"
But before You painted rainbows to show me the promises You made,
And all I am is trying desperately to see them through the rain,
Lord, hear me crying out that
I need You more now than I've
Ever wanted to admit
In my prideful anguish,
You will calm the raging
Sea in my soul that I could
Never control in all my
Vain attempts to heal what ails me
